Hispanic Heritage Month Celebration at The Mix

Latin American Alliance was proud to give a presentation to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month at The Mix afterschool program on October 12, 2021. During the presentation, various styles of music and dance were presented to the youth in attendance. Students also had the opportunity to participate in a flag ceremony representing all of the nations of Latin America.

Latin American Alliance’s own Amparo Góngora danced the cumbia colombiana, introducing the young people to the music and rhythms of her homeland, Colombia.

The crowd in attendance, numbering around 90 persons total, was also treated to a performance by Argendance Company, a group representing the culture of Argentina with music and folkloric dance.

The event also included mariachi music, representing the musical tradition of Mexico, by Mariachi Rey Azteca.

Once again, Latin American Alliance was pleased to share why we are “orgullosos de nuestras raíces” (proud of our roots) during Hispanic Heritage Month 2021.
