Latin American Alliance
2021 Literature Contest
On Saturday, May 22, Latin American Alliance hosted an awards ceremony in Manheim Township Park to honor the winners of our 2021 Latin American Alliance Spanish Literature Contest. The contest, open to all students in Lancaster County, awards monetary prizes and certificates to the best poems or short stories written in Spanish at four different language learning levels (Spanish I & II, Spanish III, Spanish IV, or Spanish V & Above). This year, the winners came from 8 different schools and colleges in the county.

In addition to our winners and their families, we were also joined by Spanish teachers from McCaskey High School, Lancaster Mennonite, Anchor Christian Academy, and Columbia High School as well as students and families from Franklin and Marshall College.
Students who won the first place prize for each category received a framed certificate and a monetary award of $250; second place winners were awarded a certificate and $175; third place winners were awarded a certificate and $100; and students awarded an honorable mention were given a certificate and a monetary prize of $50.
